Fractional Strategy Director
For the founder who's the only person in her business who can see the whole picture.
You're not stuck and your business isn't the problem. That's worth saying first, because most women who land on a page like this have already been told the opposite by someone selling a course.
Your business works. Clients come. The reputation holds. The revenue does what it needs to do most months and from the outside, it looks solved.
What's actually happening is different. You're holding every part of it at once, alongside a full life that has nothing to do with work. The pricing you know needs revisiting. The client relationship that's quietly run its course. The idea you've had since spring could be the best thing you build, sitting in a notes app because there's never an hour to think about it properly. An accountant sees your numbers. A marketing person sees your visibility. Nobody sees the whole picture except you, which means every decision comes back to you and the ones you haven't made yet are heavier than the ones you have.
That's what a Fractional Strategy Director is for. Not confidence. Not motivation. Someone who holds the whole picture with you, so you're not the only one carrying it.
What a Fractional Strategy Director actually does
In a larger company, the strategy director is the person who holds the direction, not the marketing or the operations on their own, but how all of it fits together and where it's going. Fractional simply means you get that person for a portion of her time, rather than a salary.
In practice, that means I learn your business properly, including the parts that don't make it onto the website. We meet monthly to work through the decisions actually in front of you, and I'm reachable in between, so the question that lands on a Tuesday afternoon doesn't have to wait three weeks and grow into something bigger.
I'm not here to hand you a document and disappear. I'm here to think alongside you for as long as it's genuinely useful.
This is for you if
Your business is established and profitable, and the question in front of you now is a strategic one, not a foundational one. You've reached the point where the decisions that matter are the ones nobody else can make for you, and there's nobody to make them in front of.
You're running this alongside a full life. Teenagers, ageing parents, a body that has opinions it didn't used to. You're not looking for a plan that assumes you have unlimited evenings.
You've outgrown workshops. You don't need to be taught how business works, you've been doing it for years. You'd rather be asked a hard question than handed a nice framework.
How it works
A proper start. Before anything else, we spend a half day on your business together. Numbers, offers, team, the thing you're avoiding, the thing you actually want. I come back with what I'm seeing, including the parts you might not enjoy hearing.
Monthly strategy sessions. 2 x half day sessions every month, on the real decisions. You leave with things resolved, not with homework.
Support between sessions. A voice note, an email, a quick call when something lands. Nothing has to wait a month to get raised.
A plan that stays alive. We revisit direction every quarter, because a plan written once in January and never opened again isn't a plan, it's a document.
What this isn't
It's not coaching, though you'll almost certainly leave clearer. It's not consultancy that arrives, audits, produces a deck and disappears. It's not a course, a membership, or a group programme, there's nobody else in the room and it's not for someone right at the start. If you're in your first year of business, the Networking Collective, my book, or a Sounding Board Session will serve you far better, and I'll say so honestly.
What women say
“Niki has been part of our journey for many years and has been so much more than someone we worked with. She became a trusted extension of our team, always reliable, always professional and always willing to go the extra mile. She celebrated our successes, helped us through challenges, and consistently delivered exceptional work with genuine care and commitment. Her dedication, professionalism and kindness have helped shape part of our journey. We couldn’t recommend her more highly.”

The investment
£1,250 a month plus VAT for a minimum of 3 months
That's less than a part-time hire and considerably less than a year of unmade decisions. It buys you the thing you can't buy piecemeal: someone who knows your whole business and is genuinely invested in where it goes.
I work with a small number of founders at any one time, because this only works if I know your business properly.
How to start
We talk first. A call, no charge, I want to understand what you're carrying, and you want to know whether I'm the right person to carry some of it with you. If I'm not, I'll tell you, and point you somewhere better.
Frequently asked questions
How long do people usually work with you?
Most start with six months, long enough for something to actually change. Many stay considerably longer, 2 of my clients have been with me for 5 years.
Do you work with my industry?
I work with service-based businesses of most kinds. What matters more than sector is the stage you're at and whether you're ready to be asked difficult questions.
In person or online?
Both. Monthly sessions work perfectly well over video and if you're within reach of Bristol and Bath or an airport, we can do some in person, which I'd always recommend for the first one.
Is this the same as a Sounding Board Session?
No. A Sounding Board Session is sixty minutes on one specific issue, with no ongoing commitment. It's a good way to test whether we work well together before committing to Fractional support.
You've built something good. You shouldn't have to hold all of it on your own for the next stage of it.
